PRO ARTE – SUPPORT FOR YOUNG ART
The Didrichsen Pro Arte award was established in 2003 with the purpose of supporting young, promising artists. It continues the tradition of supporting contemporary artists, which was characteristic for the museum founders Marie-Louise and Gunnar Didrichsen.
The award is issued every few years. In addition to the award the artist chosen receives a stipend, a possibility to display his or her works at the Didrichsen museum with an adjoining catalogue produced by the museum. The museum also purchases a work from the artist´s exhibition.
The jury nominates the artists and makes the final choice of the award receiver.
